Arcticbreeze Alaskan Malamutes

The Arcticbreeze Story…

After falling in love with the Alaskan Malamute in the mid-nineties, I was lucky enough to become a Malamute owner in 2003 when Storm (Koldsnap Stormy Blue at Arcticbreeze) bounced into my life much to the initial disgust of Thunder and Lightning (The Cats), Storm and I became partners in crime and we started to tag along to the shows with her Breeder. I soon got the bug! This was the start!!

We enjoyed successes on the trials and in the show ring over the next few years, with Breeze, Misty & Mikey in our pack, if not at a show it would be at a rally.

By 2011  Our pack became ten… At this point, life became rather crazy (but in a good way) with Sid & Echo & Team Muskets here to stay. Our rescue Squeak had also taken full-time residence.

With several dogs to show (also showing the Arcticbreeze Extended family) Sarah  (AKA TT) of Wintadreama Kennel kindly stepped in to assist, handle and help out at the shows, and we became as we like to say ‘Dog Sisters’.

The trails also became quite fun, with both my husband Wayne and I competing together, or should I say against one another, in combinations of two, three and four dog teams, All of our teams excelled on the trails, Misty and Mikey had become legendary and Team Muskets were proving to be the peoples favourite, they certainly were little rockets. They all have had numerous wins between them. We have been delighted to see all of our teams consistently in the top placings.

I decided to serve on the Alaskan Malamute Club UK Committee and took on the roles of treasurer and Rescue Liason coordinator during this time. I also started to judge which I still enjoy to date.

The first CC for our kennel in 2011 and by 2013 we had our first UK CHAMPION and from 2014 – 2019 UK Bitch Breed CC Record Holder.

The prestigious AMCUK Malamute of the year awards also has seen our kennel over the years win TOP OVERALL MALAMUTE, TOP WORKING DOG, BITCH, VETERAN, and BROOD BITCH, The list goes on.

At the end of 2018, the Malamutes were retired from showing and I started to look at a smaller and easier breed. After a lot of research, I became captivated by the Lagotto Romagnolo and shortly after Molly & Dotty joined the gang. A while later Dotty’s breeder internationally respected  Monica Benelli  of Il Granaio Dei Malatesta Kennel in Italy & I started to collaborate with some wonderful results. Fast forward to 2025 and I am now slave to several  Lagotto Romagnolo’s All Arcticbreeze born  & bred, not forgetting  Pablo who is here to stay on now a permanent vacation. Delighted to have achieved in this short time  with my little Curly gang.
