QUARTER FOUR
Midland Counties Championship was our next show combined with the Lagotto Romagnolo Club of GB Open show on the same day. Stars of the day were Evie. Arcticbreeze Truth or Dare winning Reserve Best Female & onto BEST FEMALE at the club show, Enzo (Arcticbreeze on Vacation) Winning both his classes and onto RESERVE BEST MALE.
A little break during November to do a bit of maintenance at home and a break for the dogs.
December saw the last championship show of the year with Evie again getting RESERVE BEST FEMALE, handled by my very lovely friend Lisa Mault of Limatine Kennels.
A much needed break for me followed with a trip to Tenerife with my dog show buddie Maggie.
The year ended with sadness as Timmy ( aged 14.5 ) sadly passed away. He leave so many memories will will always cherish and although a fantastic age for a big dog it didn’t make the loss any easier.
QUARTER THREE
Busy with puppies meant limited showing but the few we managed we were very pleased with the results
A quick dash to Three Counties saw my good friend Maggie handle Pablo for the first time & we were delight that he won BEST DOG, super placing for the rest of the gang too. Massive thanks to Georgina for stepping in the handle Nina
Blackpool was our next stop again a quick dash but saw Evie awarded RESERVE BEST FEMALE. A bit of a break then for us but flying the flag Arcticbreeze Turbulence won BEST OF BREED at Leeds .
Welsh Kennel Club I managed to steal Ralph ( ARCTICBREEZE JACKPOT ) from his mummy Gina for the day and we won BEST OF BREED , for the girls Sadie ( ARCTICBREEZE OUTBRAKER) wins RESERVE BEST FEMALE.
With Class wins with Pabloagain shown by Maggie & Enzo ( ARCTICBREEZE ON VACATION) maturing beautifully and handled to perfection by Georgina I was super proud to have all our gang in the challenge .
City of Birmingham was our next outing with Sadie winning BEST OF BREED , RESERVE FEMALE going to her daughter ARCTICBREEZE TOP SECRET at just 16 months, Super delighted as it was her first outing since Crufts.
Darlington was next and I decided a full van and a sleep over would be fun so iyt was all hands on deck . What a fabulous day with Pablo Il Granaio Dei Malatesta Rublo at Arcticbreeze winning BEST MALE, Sadie winning BEST OF BREED and again Rosie wininng RESERVE BEST FEMALE. A class win with Ralph & 3rd place for Nina
South Wales was our next one after a few weeks off Evie (ARCTICBREEZE TRUTH OR DARE) winning BEST OF BREED Making his debut was Fig our youngest member winning his Crufts qualification by a third place in a huge puppy class. Nina won her class and had a smashing time.
A few days later was the Wales Gundog show which combined with the Lagotto Romagnolo Association Show. Evie won BEST OF BREED with BEST DOG going to Enzo & Georgina ( ARCTICBREEZE ON VACATION) The LRA gave different results with BEST OF BREED going to our Pablo & Reserve BEST FEMALE to Evie
QUARTER TWO
A busy time behind the scenes here, with many plans for the future nicely coming together for the summer months and indeed longer term at Arcticbreeze headquarters. Of course training, fitness and coat maintainence always keeps it a busy time.
Delighted to share wonderful news … Pablo our beautiful soul from Italy is now a permanent resident and will now be known as Il Granaio Dei Malatesta Rublo at Arcticbreeze. He has been taking a little break post crufts whilst paperwork was processed.
A few weeks raising pups meant no shows for march & April, howeever the flag was flown by Ricco ARCTICBREEZE TURBULENCE winning BEST OF BREED at WELKS Championship show and so pleased to see Georgia Willot & Enzo win the RESEVE BEST MALE at just 14 months old . Both Georgina & Enzo being new to the show world.
A quick trip to Stafford showground in May saw BEST OF BREED again to Ricco. His sister Sadie winning Best Female & Evie taking the reserve best female.
Class win for Ralph ARCTICBREEZE JACKPOT & Nina ARCTICBREEZE KEEP A SECRET gaining Second Place along with Enzo ARCTICBREEZE ON VACATION.
Lots of shows the following weekend saw the Arcticbreeze gang spread all over the country representing the Arcticbreeze gang, Another BEST OF BREED and RESERVE BEST MALE award for Ricco up in Scotland and the LRA Championship show saw smashing places for Enzo, Ivy, Charlie & Bet.
The next few weeks will be focused on our new arrivals but looking forward to getting back in the Showing Zone real soon
QUARTER ONE
A steady start to 2024 with continued training for the gang.
For Crufts I set myself the challenge of taking seven dogs along. Delighted to have three ARCTICBREEZE females won their classes. ARCTICBREEZE TOP SECRET handled by Wendy Heller (first time handling Rosie). ARCTICBREEZE SMILE & WAVE owned and handled by Jenni Kirkham (first Crufts for both). ARCTICBREEZE TRUTH OR DARE handled by Top Junior Handler Paige Hughes. (first time handling Evie). A fantastic team effort this result making the Arcticbreeze girls the only UK Bred this year to have class wins.
Great placings for the rest of the gang including, ARCTICBREEZE NOW OR NEVER owned by Suzanne Tollerfield & handled by her daughter Kathleen. ARCTICBREEZE ON VACATION owned and handled by Georgina Willot (first Crufts for both). ARCTICBREEZE JACKPOT owned and handled by Gina Taylor (first Crufts for both). ARCTICBREEZE KEEP IT LEGAL handled by Senja Makinen (Foogel Kennel) who travelled all the way from Finland. ARCTICBREEZE KEEP A SECRET Owned & handled by me. Not forgetting our resident Cassanova IL GRANAIO DEI MALATESTA RUBLO handled by Roberto Semenzato.
The following day I travelled back to Crufts with my friend Jo & her Greenland Dog Nuka. Jo was feeling unwell so I handled Nukka (Only her second show) and she won BEST OF BREED. A little unprepared but we went into the big ring a dream to come for me for sure.
A few weeks later saw the arrival of Puppies so a busy time raising the gang.
News 2023
This year has been a real busy one here Our first Championship Show saw Evie, Sadie, Annie & Pablo all win their classes and Evie going on to win Best Female in Breed, Reserve best female went to fellow Arcticbreezer ‘Purdey’ A few weeks later we were delighted to welcome eleven little Dotty/ Zeke babies. Of course we squeezed in CRUFTS with Annie & Evie who both gained second place & Pablo stole the day with a first place.
April saw the arrival of six little princesses from Sadie & Pablo, first litter for them both. Managing to pop to Birmingham show in May again gave us wonderful results with class wins for the full squad and Pablo went on to win BEST OF BREED, Annie was awarded Reserve Best female.
No shows for us whilst raising the puppies but delighted to here recently at Bath CH Show Arcticbreeze doing the double with BD & BB /BOB well done Cindy & Purdey, Simon & Ricco. A few days later at Southern Counties Championship show saw fellow Arcticbreezer Ivy Arcticbreeze Hopscotch at floreydown win BEST FEMALE and Reserve Best Male to Ricco Arcticbreeze Turbulence at Allsong, Well done Ivy & Simon , super team work !!!
Venturing out for the first show in a while Blackpool Championship show saw Ricco ‘Arcticbreeze Turbulence at Allsong’ Win BEST OF BREED , Reserve Best Male was Pablo. For the girls in the Rare Breeds Evie ‘Arcticbreeze Truth or Dare’ wins BEST OF BREED. Windsor was our next stop with Evie winning reserve best female.
East of England Championship show was next with first places for Evie, Dotty & Pablo, Annie gained a second and both Pablo & Dotty went Reserve Best of Sex . A busy few weeks ahead training the youngsters ready for their Autumn Debuts into the Show Ring
Windsor was our next stop with everyone placed & Evie gaining Reserve Best Female.
Leeds Championship followed with Annie winning BEST OF BREED, Class win for Pablo & a third place for Evie. A few weeks off followed to catch up on chores at home.
Welsh Kennel Club was our next stop with just Annie & Evie, Stars of this show were fellow gang members Arcticbreeze Hopscotch ( Ivy) winning BEST OF BREED first of many we hope & Best Male going to Arcticbreeze Turbulence ( Ricco) Annie bags herself the Reserve Best Female. I have to say I really do have the BEST OWNERS well done Simon & Ivy
The end of August saw the new pups reach six months and make their debut, How delighted was I to hear that right down south making his debut in style at SW gundog Premiere open show Charlie ( Arcticbreeze Now or Never) owned by Suzanne Tollerfield and handled by her daughter Kathleen not only wins Best Puppy but also gets himself a Group 4 under well respected Lagotto Judge Carole Coode.
Driffield Championship show was a really busy day and I was delighted to welcome new Arcticbreeze exhibitors Georgina & Enzo & Jenni & Maggie. Both duos absolutely smashed it with a first and second place and of course they were delighted with Crufts qualification.
Annie steals the show winning BEST OF BREED, handled to perfection as always by Maggie . Ricco winning Best Dog and class wins for Evie & Pablo . Making her debut Berni ( Arcticbreeze Keep it Legal) wins her class.
Well done guys , what a fabby start !!
City of Birmingham Championship Show was our next stop showing under Jack Gilder a breed specialist from the Mikette Kennel who drew a huge entry of quality exhibits. Although somewhat chaotic and dis organised we had class wins all round. Annie wins BEST FEMALE and RESERVE BEST FEMALE to Evie.
The following weekend we ventured to Richmond Championship show, Annie & Berni won their classes with with a third place for Evie & back from parental duties Sadie gains a second place. Stars of the show were Ivy ( Arcticbreeze Hopscotch to Florydown winning BEST FEMALE from a wonderful lineup & Charlie ( Arcticbreeze Now or Never ) winning BEST PUPPY IN BREED and going on to get shortlisted in the puppy group .
Darlington Championship Show one of our favourites in the Calendar saw Sadie Win BEST OF BREED Pablo BEST MALE , Evie reserve best female , Class wins for Berni & Annie.
Other news from Ireland Belfast Championship show saw Ivy take BEST OF BREED & Purdey just back from her international travels was crowned CANADA CHAMPION.
Time for a haircut for Pablo and a little break from the shows so venturing out as an all girls team for a few weeks.
going solo to SKC , Wales gundog & South Wales Championship Shows saw Annie win RESERVE BEST FEMALE & Berni win BEST PUPPY IN BREED in all three instances.
Delighted to see Ricco ( Arcticbreeze Turbulence) get BEST DOG at The Gundog of Wales Championship show with Berni gaining BEST PUPPY. A few days later saw The lovely Autumn South Wales Championship Show With the Debut of ARCTICBREEZE JACKPOT ( Ralph) making his debut to win Reserve Best Male, Ricco Winning best of breed & Annie winning Reserve Best Female.
A nice local double show followed Midland Counties & The Lagotto Romagnolo Open Show. A debut for the youngsters Nina ,Rosie & Bet who had an absolute blast at the show, With first ,second & third placings.
I was very grateful to be able to handle Ralph (Arcticbreeze Jackpot) in the abscence of his owner Gina . He sure made an impact winning BEST OF BREED and then at the LRCGB club show wins BEST IN SHOW, This just being just his second show.
Other super results saw Charlie ( ARCTICBREEZE NOW OR NEVER) Getting Reserve Best Dog & BEST PUPPY IN SHOW. Annie (ARCTICBREEZE ONE & ONLY) win reserve Best Female , A Class win for RICCO & great placings for Ivy & Evie in the biggest class of the day . super placings for Evie & Ivy
November saw a couple of Open Shows for Puppy practice for the youngsters, Simon & Ricco ( Arcticbreeze Turbulence at Allsong) did keep the flag flying high with a wonderful RESERVE BEST IN SHOW at Stoke on Trent Gundog Show.
Last Championship Show of the year Ladies Kennel Association saw super results, with Star of the show going to Arcticbreeze Smile & Wave owned and handled by Jenni Kirkham . Jenni is new to showing and coincidentally this show last year was when Jenni & Partner James came to see what it was all about and got hooked ringside. So imagine her delight to go BEST PUPPY IN BREED in the biggest breed class of the day . Simon & Ricco gain a BEST DOG which makes him one of the top winning males this year . Evie ( ARCTICBREEZE TRUTH OR DARE) Handled by Maggie wins Reserve Best female, Second placing for youngsters Rosie, Bet & Enzo. What a smashing end to the year

Last show of the year was LKA in Birmingham, Sadie, Annie & Ricco all win their classes with Pablo and Eve gaining a second place each. Star of the day going to Annie ( Arcticbreeze One & Only at just over a year of age WINS BEST OF BREED expectly handled by Heather Killilea.
November
Evie wins BEST OF BREED at just a year of age at Sedgeley & Gornal Open Show, We had a little first birthday celebration for all the pups first birthday, It was fantastic for all owners to meet and of course all the dogs had a blast.
Other news from further afield Flocky Il Granario Dei Malatesta Flocky (our 2021 staycation boy) only went and bagged himself TOP LAGOTTO IN THE USA.
Over in Ireland Arcticbreeze New Sensation becomes an International Junior Champion. Huge congratulations to owners and handlers and everyone involved with this two smashing Lagotto’s.
October
Edinburgh was our next destination for the Scottish Gundog Association Show followed by the Scottish Kennel Club Championship Show. with a full squad of four Lagotto, my good friend Maggie & her Bulldog coming along to show also. Saturday saw BEST OF BREED go to Sadie (Arcticbreeze Outbraker). BEST DOG to new kid on the block Pablo ( Il Granaio Dei Malatesta Rublo) owned and bred by Monica Benelli presented & campaigned by Arcticbreeze. Reserve BEST DOG went to Simon & Ricco (Arcticbreeze Turbulence at Allsong) and BEST PUPPY to Evie ( Arcticbreeze Truth or Dare) .
The following day we were back to it with firstly the Gundog Rare Breeds saw Sadie win BEST OF BREED, Ricco BEST DOG, Pablo RESERVE BEST DOG & Annie BEST PUPPY & RESERVE BEST FEMALE. Evie had a poorly tum so sat the show out for the day. The afternoon was the breed class with again Sadie Winning BEST OF BREED, Ricco BEST DOG , Pablo RESERVE BEST DOG & Annie winning BEST PUPPY IN BREED. We sure did float home !!!
South Wales was our next destination with Sadie Winning BEST OF BREED, Ricco BEST DOG , Pablo RESERVE BEST DOG & Annie winning BEST PUPPY IN BREED.
A few days later North Wales Gundog show in the beautiful Malvern hills again gave us awesome results with Sadie BEST OF BREED, Ricco BEST DOG , Pablo RESERVE BEST DOG & Evie winning BEST PUPPY IN BREED & RESERVE BEST FEMALE
Our final shows for October were Midland Counties followed by the LRA ( Lagotto Romagnolo Association) show on the same day , I was delighted that Midland counties saw all the girls win their classes , Pablo gained a second place. Sadie then goes onto win BEST OF BREED . Eve wins BEST PUPPY IN BREED. Next was the LRA Club Show Annie wins a lovely Junior class and Pablo had a great time winning his Class place. Eve wins her class to go onto win BEST PUPPY IN SHOW. Sadie goes on to win BEST IN SHOW. The icing on the cake was litter mate Ricco winning Reserve BEST IN SHOW
September
A fairly short trip for us to Birmingham City Championship Show at Keniworth with Heather Killilea saw Evie win her Puppy Class and go on the win BEST PUPPY IN BREED & BEST FEMALE IN BREED, Heather & Evie then went on to get shortlisted in a super puppy group. RESERVE BEST FEMALE went to Sadie, With Annie placing second & Dotty a Reserve. Fellow Arcticbreezers Dante gets a first & Ricco a Second. What a super day all round.
A couple of weeks off we headed North to Darlington Show and a weekend of camper van fun . With our new Italian visitor Pablo ready to make his debut. All the dogs had great placings, Star of the weekend was Dante (Arcticbreeze On the Podium ) winning BEST DOG IN BREED.
August
Back on our travels after a few weeks away from the show ring Accompanied by Maggie we set off for a weekend away to Paignton , Six hours later we landed and wasn’t it just worth the trip, with Sadie & Eve both winning their classes and Eve at just eight months winning BEST FEMALE IN BREED, Annie wins a very respectable second place under Jeff Horswell. Next morning we headed back up north to National Gundog at Malvern, Another super day of results in the blistering heat where Sadie not only won BEST FEMALE but also went on to win BEST OF BREED, Giving an absolute sterling performance in the group. Annie & Eve both won their classes , & Dotty placed 4th in the Open class. Sam & Dante not only won their class , but went on to win RESERVE BEST DOG . Ivy did a great job in the puppy class with a third place. Our judge was respected Gundog Judge James Cuddy. What a smashing day .
The following weekend Maggie & I trotted down south again, this time to Bournmouth Championship Show which I was looking forward to very much as our Judge was Breed Specialist Ann Stephenson & after a smashing evening on the Campsite with the fellow Arcticbreezers we all had a very very hot & busy day almost missing the classes due to a ring change but we all managed and again got some great results, Sadie again wins BEST FEMALE, so Class wins for Molly and her offspring Sadie, Annie, & Ricco , with Dante winning a second place and Eve placed third.
Few days later, this time accompanied by Heather Killilea who has been key in helping to train the youngsters we set off for a little day trip to Wales. Heather & Evie win the Puppy class with Myself and Annie in second place and Wendy & Ivy who is coming along a treat a close third , Sadie & Dotty both win their classes so with three girls in the challenge I was thrilled Sadie not only won BEST FEMALE IN BREED but also BEST OF BREED . Her competition was fierce with the BEST DOG IN BREED being her litter brother DANTE handled to perfection by Sam (as always) . Our judge was Chris Atkinson
Bank holiday weekend with Maggie back in the passenger seat this time up north to Driffield Championship Show . All of the dogs won their classes so it was all hands on deck to find handlers. Our judge Roxanne Macdonald decided this week it was Annie’s time to shine from the junior class, Annie was handled by Maggie Wilkinson in the breed class & in the challenge by my wonderful God Daughter Jessica Wyard . Reserve BEST FEMALE was awarded to Sadie

May was busy for us with training the pups ready for the shows and getting everyone back in shape, Our next show was bimingham national Championship show Sadie won her class with Molly a second place and Dotty a third, Stars of the day were the Arcticbreeze boys Ricco & Dante, both winning their classes and on Ricco going on to win reserve Best Male in Breed , Next show was Bath Chamopinship Show, we made a weekend of it as all of the girls were being shown, The pups had a whale of a time making their debut, Both placed and both had fun. Sadie & Dotty both won their classes and Dotty went on to win RESERVE BEST FEMALE IN BREED , Expertly piloted by my good friend Scarlett Burnside, Molly came second place, in the boys Ricco again won his class.
A few days later we returned down south for Southern Counties Championship Show. At just her second show little Anne (Arcticbreeze One & Only) wins Best puppy in the rare breeds and Dante ( Arcticbreeze On the Poduim at Atkaluna wins Best of Breed AV Rare breeds, In t he breed classes the boys topped the day with Otto ( Arcticbreeze Breakout) making his debut and bagging a first in puppy dog, Ricco Arcticbreeze Turbulence at Allsong winning his class & Dante Arcticbreeze On the Podium at Atkaluna winning a strong limit class made for three Arcticbreeze boys in the challenge…. A day of second & third places for the girls with a special mention to Tracy & Lila (Arcticbreeze Aerodynamic) winning a third place in a lovely class We all had a great day.
The beautiful Malvern Hills was the location for our first ourdoor show of the year with just Sadie & Dotty along to ease me back into the swing of things, Delighted Sadie received Reserve best Female & Dotty second place in open behind the Best of Sex Winner. For the Boys Dante & Ricco both won their classes , great to have all my homebred dogs in the challenges today. Icing on the cake was I got to see some of the pups for the first time since they flew the nest. Thank you to their lovely owners for bringing them along
